The logo of the tercentenary is based on a picture that was painted by the leading botanical artist of his day, Georg Dilnys Ehret. The painting illustrates Class 10 of the sexual system.

Exhibition: System & Passion - Linnaeus and the dream of order in nature

In Tokyo, the National Science Museum, together with the Embassy of Sweden, has invited the Swedish photographer Helene Schmitz to display her exhibition "Linnaeus and the dream of order in nature" within the “Hana-ten" flower exhibition held at the museum, from March 24 until June 17, 2007. The exhibition consists of 24 photographs of flowers from 24 different classes - accompanied by the names of the flowers and Linnaeus´ description of each class.
