The South African Institute for Aquatic Biodiversity (SAIAB) is the custodian of the National Fish Collection of South Africa, the world's largest collection of southern African Fishes, and Africa's largest fish collection. On 23 March we celebrate the opening of our new off-site accommodation for the National Fish Collection, the SAIAB Collection Facility, a state-of-the-art building for the preservation, curation and management of aquatic biodiversity specimens.
