The logo of the tercentenary is based on a picture that was painted by the leading botanical artist of his day, Georg Dilnys Ehret. The painting illustrates Class 10 of the sexual system.

The Linnean Correspondence

The goal of the project "The Linnean Correspondence" is to publish all known letters written by or sent to Carl Linnaeus. The first stage of the project is the publication of extensive summaries in English of every letter, with the opportunity to search these summaries in free text, together with links to biographical and bibliographical details. Large parts of the original letters will be digitalised and the images will be available on the project website. A selection of previously published letters in various editions and translations will also be available at the website.

The publication and the translation of Carl Linnaeus' correspondence is being financed byRiksbankens Jubileumsfond ("The Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation"). Svenska Linnésällskapet ("The Swedish Linnaeus Society") is the principal actor in the project, and the publication of Linnaeus' letters is supported also by Kungl. Vetenskapsakademien ("TheRoyalSwedishAcademyof Sciences"), Uppsala University and Uppsala University Library, and by The Linnean Society in London.
