The logo of the tercentenary is based on a picture that was painted by the leading botanical artist of his day, Georg Dilnys Ehret. The painting illustrates Class 10 of the sexual system.

Carl Linnaeus received inspiration both from untamed countryside and from gardens.
Gardens throughout Sweden are preparing to celebrate the king of flowers, Carl Linnaeus. Here we draw attention to some large gardens, from Skåne in the south to Lapland in the north. They include botanical gardens, country house gardens and museum gardens. Some of these are included in the list of Linnaeus Sites.
Many types of garden are represented, everything from classical and modern artistic gardens to cultivated landscapes as they would have been in Linnaeus' days.
