The logo of the tercentenary is based on a picture that was painted by the leading botanical artist of his day, Georg Dilnys Ehret. The painting illustrates Class 10 of the sexual system.

Comprehensive environmental policy

The Linnaeus Tercentenary in 2007 will be permeated by an environmental focus and a sensitivity to the environment fully in the spirit of Linnaeus. He was the first to describe ecological relationships, and he started the cataloguing of plant life and animal life throughout the world.
Enthusiasm and joy characterise our environmental work, not least captured in the three key concepts of the tercentenary: curiosity, creativity and science. This work will reinforce Sweden´s international reputation as a leading environmental example, something that will benefit future generations.
